Artist Statement

Travelling to establish exchange programs and residencies, I took a train ride through Switzerland when the fields of yellow touched the clear blue sky.

Large yellow paintings, installed to vibrate and sing.

Wide open spaces included describing the jetties in Veldrift. Printmaking and painting.

Coming home to my studio, large or small, inside or under a tree in the garden.

A workshop on Robben Island and Thupelo at Broedestroom. A scent of Africa I seek over and over, as in the light and the feel.
