The reading, research and inclusion of literature, music, sounds, poetry, rhythms, gardening, cooking, making fires, walking all contribute to the collaborative way in which Jill makes a painting. From institutionalised and informal interactive experiences, conversation with masters and learners Jill is able to see her work with greater clarity. The sharpening of her skills and thinking is essential to her painting. The trajectories that she draws from historically,  psychologically, intellectually, physically are important but the actual internal collaborative experience while painting is where her energy is most focused.
